Envision Engineering was founded in 2024 by Scott Snowden and Oliver Grange as a business offering Engineering services specialising in Software Defined business transformation, Systems Engineering, Control Systems and Embedded development.

Our experience covers a range of industries and business scales from clean energy start-up through to large Automotive OEMs.

We have a particular passion for supporting start-ups and early stage businesses in transforming their product idea or concept into a prototype and then volume production. Our approach to Complex System Engineering projects and our multi-discipline capabilities enable a one-stop solution for Rapid Prototyping and idea evaluation.

Based in Norfolk, we use a range of trusted suppliers and partners to bring your project to life.

Scott Snowden Msc MIET

Scott's background is in control system, software and embedded development. Scott studied computer science and started his career as a web developer before deciding to further study a Masters in Automotive Electronic Engineering. This gave him a foundation in Embedded systems, Thermodynamics, Vehicle Architecture and Electronics.

This background enabled Scott to secure a role at Dearman Engine Company developing the novel Liquid Nitrogen engine. Scott led the Software and Controls team to fully develop the engine controller, application controller, engine test cell and data analysis.

Scott then worked at McLaren Applied Technologies developing the TAG-320B SECU ECU used in every car on the Formula 1 grid. Scott developed the automated HIL testing platform for the updated control unit, along with further developing the CI/CD toolchain. Scott also developed application software for IndyCar, NASCAR and Formula E.

Before starting Envision Engineering, Scott worked at Lotus Cars - joining in 2019 at the beginning of Geely's significant investment, and working on both the Emira and Evija programmes from early stages through to launch and production. Scott was the Team Lead/Unit Project Lead for the complete Emira electrical system at the beginning of the programme before taking on responsibility for ADAS and software management in roles as Chief Engineer for ADAS and Software then Head of Systems and Software.

Scott led the software management, software development and systems engineering functions at Lotus, who delivered a significant proportion of the Evija software and systems.

Oliver Grange

Co-Founder & Joint Managing Director

Oli's background is in Electrical, Motorsport and Vehicle Development, Dynamics and Integration and Test. Oli started his career as an apprentice electrician for domestic, industrial and commercial installations. Oli then moved on to developing industrial control systems and for high voltage and high power energy distribution. This gave him a foundation in high voltage electrical development, low voltage signalling, PLC, sensors, actuators, plus wiring and harnessing.

His keen interest in Motorsport and high performance vehicles took him in to roles with EXCELR8 Motorsport in Mini Challenge, Production Touring Cars, World Endurance and moving to Australia for Australia GT Open as Lead Race Engineer.

Oli joined Dearman, working with Scott on the development of their Liquid Nitrogen engine and Transport Refrigeration System. Oli led the electrical department during the later field trial and production volume ramp up.

He then moved to Charge Cars at the beginning of the development of their Electric '67 Mustang as a Lead Systems Development Engineer, leading the development of Thermal Control Systems, Audio System, Convenience Features, Driveability, HV&LV Power Distribution, Battery Interconnects and Power Distribution Units, Battery enclosure and cooling plate design, and development along with numerous innovation led component projects.

The experience gained led to him join Lotus as Principal Engineer for Vehicle Motion Control and ADAS, with the primary responsibility to develop and deliver the torque vectored 4 motor 2000hp Evija Torque control system. This role grew into supporting a range of other systems, testing and development across the vehicle including hydraulics, body control, chassis control, charging and thermal control.
